Bosch Rexroth is to expand its IoT and telematics portfolio for mobile machinery through a series of partnerships, naming telematics specialist Owasys as its first partner.
The approach will see the company further develop telematics units, remote access and over-the-air (OTA) updates alongside partner firms. Off-highway vehicle manufacturers will gain access to a more comprehensive and scalable IoT and telematics offering, allowing them to roll out new features across their machines, modify information and ensure compatibility with attachments. Further partnerships are planned.
Through BODAS (Bosch Rexroth Digital Application Solutions), the company offers off-highway manufacturers a range of mobile electronics and telematics that spans hardware, software and the BODAS Connect telematics and IoT portfolio.
“With this new approach of expanding the IoT and telematics portfolio together with partners, manufacturers of off-highway vehicles will have access to a significantly wider selection of telematics solutions in the future, which are more scalable and efficient than our previous offering,” says Martin Sykora, head of sales mobile electronics at Bosch Rexroth.

The first partner, Owasys Advances Wireless Devices, has worked with Bosch Rexroth for more than five years on the development of Open Linux-based platforms used within the BODAS ecosystem.
Under the expanded partnership, Owasys will contribute its telematics hardware and device management expertise. Bosch Rexroth customers will gain access to the company’s Linux-based telematics gateways and device management capabilities while retaining integration with Bosch Rexroth’s existing digital ecosystem.
The collaboration will also continue to support connected-machine capabilities including remote access, diagnostics and OTA software updates for Bosch Rexroth electronic control units, helping manufacturers reduce downtime and streamline software deployment across the machine lifecycle.
“We are excited to take our long-standing collaboration with Bosch Rexroth to the next level and bring an even broader range of connected solutions to off-highway vehicle manufacturers,” says Dámaso Orbe, sales and marketing director at Owasys. “For more than five years, our teams have worked closely together on the development of Open Linux-based platforms. On this basis, we can offer our customers even greater added value. Software becomes increasingly central to machine performance and lifecycle management. This partnership will help reduce development complexity, accelerate deployment, and lower operating costs.”
The tie-up follows an earlier partnership: in April 2025, Bosch Rexroth entered a strategic agreement with Trackunit, combining its digital firmware and software update expertise with the Trackunit ecosystem to enable functional enhancements for construction machines and simplify service through OTA updates.
