TTControl is expanding its portfolio of hardware, software, performance computing platforms and application development services to help off-highway manufacturers implement physical AI, perception systems, operator assistance functions and autonomous machine capabilities faster and with lower integration risk.
The company, based in Vienna, Austria, and Brixen/Bressanone, Italy, says the off-highway machinery market is evolving rapidly, driven by demand for autonomy, AI-supported operations and rising safety and cybersecurity standards. TTControl says its 25 years of experience, long-standing customer relationships and research and innovation ecosystem underpin the expanded offering.
Many experts see the off-highway sector as well placed to implement and scale autonomous operations, given its specific, repeatable use cases and more restricted environments compared with on-road applications. The subject will be discussed at this year’s The Autonomous event in Austria, where TTControl will host a cross-industry panel exploring the impact of physical AI for off-highway applications amid labour shortages, rising productivity demands and stricter workplace safety requirements.

Application Development Center at the core
TTControl’s offering spans electronic control units, telematics, human-machine interfaces, application software and performance computing platforms for autonomous and AI-enhanced machinery, with functional safety and cybersecurity at its core. A key part of this is the company’s Application Development Center (ADC), where dedicated teams work with customers to develop and industrialise applications for environment perception, operator assistance and autonomous operation. TTControl says the ADC helps original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) reduce development time, lower integration risk and bring new machine functions to market faster.
For autonomy and AI integration specifically, TTControl provides its FusionAI performance computing platform and its MotionAI high-performance computing platform, designed as a foundation for automation, connectivity and safety-critical applications while meeting real-time and safety requirements. Their use is already demonstrated in real-world deployments: in agriculture, the platforms enable systems such as HORSCH’s AI-powered spot-spraying system, which identifies weeds and reduces herbicide use, while in the special vehicle sector they provide the computing foundation for autonomous vehicle concepts including Prinoth’s snow groomers, supporting AI-assisted and autonomous operation in challenging off-road environments.
Long-standing customer base
TTControl is a joint venture of TTTech and HYDAC in the off-highway sector. The company says its growth over 25 years has been driven by technical competence and long-term relationships with market leaders including Ammann in construction, HORSCH and ROPA in agriculture, Palfinger in material handling, Rosenbauer in municipal vehicles, and Prinoth and Leitner Group in special vehicles.
Beyond individual customer projects, TTControl also advances physical AI and autonomous machine technologies through collaborative initiatives including the Autonomous Operations Cluster and the CovisionLab research and innovation programmes, alongside the ADC.
