Hyster has won two awards for its Atlas automated lift truck portal, taking a Good Design award in the robotics category and being named AGV Solution of the Year by the SupplyTech Breakthrough Awards.
Hyster Atlas, which launched in September 2025, is designed to allow automated lift trucks to be implemented in as little as one day without software engineering experience, using a drag-and-drop portal intended to support teams in manufacturing facilities.
Using the portal, operators can map a facility by driving the truck manually. As the truck is driven, waypoints are automatically created along the travelled path to define routes, without coding. Routes can then be updated by dragging and dropping waypoints into new locations.
“With the demands placed on material handling operations, the last thing teams need is technology that’s complex and cumbersome to use,” says Noah Salmonson, product manager, automation at Hyster. “The automated lift truck portal was created to amplify what teams can accomplish, not leave them buried in complicated software. These award wins recognise the simplicity of working within the Hyster Atlas portal, and the value of that simplicity in meeting operational goals.”
The first Hyster Atlas truck, an automated tow tractor, is designed to work with a range of workflows and cart styles, and offers an automated hitch and unhitch option to limit manual intervention. Automated wireless charging enables the truck to return to a charging dock when needed without operator or supervisor intervention.
Automation components are integrated separately on top of standard Hyster lift trucks, which the company says allows updates and adjustments without interfering with other components and enables simpler service through its dealer network. Hyster Atlas is offered on a rental model, with costs rolled into a single monthly fee.
