Volvo Construction Equipment (CE) has launched the EC950 High Reach, the largest high-reach excavator in its portfolio. The machine joins the existing EC400, EC500 and EC750 High Reach models.
The EC950 High Reach has a maximum working height of 161ft when equipped with a 3401kg tool. It was developed by Volvo engineers in collaboration with Volvo-authorized partners.
“The EC950 High Reach is the latest Special Application Solution from Volvo,” says Tony den Hoed, director of strategic demolition accounts for Volvo CE North America. “It combines size, strength and intelligent design to enable customers to achieve outstanding results on the largest and most challenging demolition projects.”
The excavator features a modular multi-configuration boom and arm design intended to simplify transportation. With a maximum transport height of 11 ft 9 in (3.6 m), the machine incorporates hydraulic removable counterweight, detachable side tracks, modular boom and arm sections and hinged walkways.
The cab tilts up to 30° and features P5A certified polycarbonate windows and a frame-mounted falling object guard. The machine includes Volvo’s total moment indicator (TMI) for real-time stability monitoring, Smart View cameras with optional obstacle detection, and CareTrack telematics.
An integrated dust suppression system with dual water spray nozzles and a high-pressure washer is included.
The EC950 High Reach is available in North America.
