Eberspaecher’s thermal management focus for Agritechnica

Eberspaecher and subsidiary Eberspaecher Kalori are jointly presenting their range of thermal products at Agritechnica 2019.

Products on display there include the KAB air-conditioning system for driver’s cabs of all sizes, the Titronic CHHV 50 G3 high-voltage coolant heater for agricultural and forestry machinery with a hybrid or electric drive.

The companies produce air-conditioning, ventilation and pressurization systems for agricultural and forestry machinery. Their competences complement each other perfectly, explained Dr Jörg Schernikau, COO of Climate Control Systems: “Thanks to our shared expertise, we offer customers from all over the world an even wider range of combined thermal management systems all from a single source through our global service and distribution network,” .

Optimal climate control of the driver’s cab (whether tractor, combine harvester and so on) is essential for operator comfort and focus on the work at hand, even in extreme hot or cold temperatures. The KAB, from Eberspaecher Kalori , is a new air-conditioning system that integrates air distribution and manual operating elements, which can be installed easily in the cab roof. It is also available as a combined HVAC version for heating, ventilation and cooling. Eberspaecher Kalori also offers cabin pressurization systems, like the K Protec: A filter system and an overpressure generated in the driver’s cab filters out pollutants and dust particles from the cab air, while the overpressure prevents them from even entering. The K Protec enables cab certification in accordance with EN 15695 Category 4.

Eberspaecher’s new Titronic CCHV 50 G3 is a purely electrical solution for fast, reliable heating of off-highway vehicles with a hybrid or electric drive. The compact high-voltage coolant heater warms up the driver’s cab with PTC technology: With their in-system self-control effect, these high-performance PTC elements protect against overheating, enabling safe and powerful heating, the company explained. The Plugtronic electrical pre-heating system provides warmth from a socket (230 V).

Meanwhile, the robust Airtronic 2 air heater preheats the driver’s cab to a comfortable temperature. The fuel-operated heater can be installed in tight spaces, due to its compact design, and its low energy consumption and very fast cab heating capability are impressive. The engine-independent Hydronic S3 Commercial water heater is the ideal solution for applications where both the cab and the engine require pre-heating – for example, for tractor use in snow clearing in winter. Among others, the pre-heaters can be operated using the EasyStart Web operating element in addition to the corresponding app, on a smartphone as well as any internet-enabled device – no matter the range. Especially practical for companies with multiple vehicles: The remote maintenance function allows workshops to effortlessly perform remote diagnosis via the app once the vehicle owner has approved. Another plus: Up to five pre-heaters can be controlled per user account, meaning several vehicles can be warmed up in the morning before the work day begins. Alternatively, the pre-heaters can also be operated using the installed EasyStart Pro operating element.

The pair will be exhibiting at Agritechnica in Hanover, Germany, November 10-16, Stand D27, Hall 17
