Caterpillar’s new Cat D6 XE dozer is fitted with an innovative Electric Drive power train that converts power from the diesel engine to electricity to drive the machine – this video gives an overview of how it works. It does away with the need for gears, delivering what Caterpillar says is the most efficient way to put power to the ground, with unprecedented fuel efficiency and ease of operation.
