Hiab launches truck-mounted forklift

Hiab has announced the launch of its latest truck-mounted forklift, which will be on stand at the Commercial Vehicle Show this month.

The Moffett M5 NX has been developed with an efficient power-to-weight ratio suitable for medium to heavy-duty applications. Light enough to be carried by most trucks or trailers, the forklift can lift up to 2,500kg (5,510 lb) and is available with the firm’s optional Lift Assist system that enables safe unloading from one side.

“The M5 NX is the newest addition to our NX range of truck-mounted forklifts, featuring improved operator safety and comfort, easier maintenance and enhanced styling, all combined with the great performance and trusted reliability that is expected from a Moffett,” said Keith Quigley, senior vice president, truck mounted forklifts at Hiab.

The M5 NX can be customized to suit differing needs, thanks to a wide range of options and attachments, among them varied lift heights, four-way steering, a choice of forks, and various tyre options.

Nigel Brook, product business manager for truck-mounted forklifts at Hiab, said, “We constantly strive to improve our products, based on customer feedback, and we have developed some great new features for the M5 NX as a result.

“The bonnet has been redesigned to give extra visibility, and together with the new LED lights and beacon, interlocking seatbelt, a larger enclosure, and new pedal positions, these features give maximum safety and comfort to the operator. And the redesigned bonnet and rear doors make access for daily maintenance checks incredibly easy and fast.”

The Commercial Vehicle Show takes place in Birmingham, UK on April 24-26.
