Manitou Group has officially unveiled its new test center, which will increase the company’s ability to perform endurance and durability tests on its products.

The R&D Test Center was inaugurated in the presence of a number of elected government officials and has been built to assess the endurance capabilities of the company’s prototype technologies.

Launched in May 2017, the work, representing an investment of €1.5m (US$1.8m), was finished in January 2018. This new space includes a driving circuit, an RT 2012-certified building and 16 employees specializing in driving and test bench maintenance, who are working to improve the effectiveness of the installations in order to increase the products’ robustness.

Jean-Yves Augé, R&D director of the Manitou Group, said of project’s purpose, “By automating the various test phases, we are able to accelerate the evaluations on our machines to provide our users with ever more reliability. This is about certifying the capacity and endurance of all our ranges and our future innovative products. We are fully involved in continuous improvement.”
