Caterpillar connecting technology to connect expanded range of assets

0

Caterpillar is helping equipment managers to connect all of their assets with the launch of new hardware and software Product Link technologies that can report through a single system.

Vision Link is able to take reports from any brand or size of vehicle, including large earthmovers all the way down to small generators, as well as other powered and non-powered equipment. The new system offers multiple communication channels – cellular, satellite and Bluetooth – and is designed for easy installation with plug-and-play technology and apps for mobile devices.

It also has battery backup for machine-powered devices and long-life batteries for units on non-powered assets to ensure more reliable operation.

The scalable Product Link for monitoring production machines enables increasing data to be collected, while new truck monitoring hardware can work alongside all brands of light and heavy-duty trucks and uses cellular technology to provide information ensuring driver safety, and to assist production and maintenance managers.

The new technologies will be on display at ConExpo in Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 7-11.
