Novotechnik’s RFC-4800 touchless technology angle sensor, available from Variohm EuroSensor, is now offered with a CANopen interface increasing its extreme environment application flexibility in automotive, agricultural and construction equipment.
The two-part sensor, which determines measurement angle based on the positional change of a magnetic field, comprises a separate encapsulated sensing element and magnet, and with no moving parts offers very high durability and reliability as well as exceptionally long life for arduous duty use.
Environmental rating is from IP67 with optional protection class to IP69K. The CANopen option joins industry standard voltage, ratiometric and current output versions as well as SSI, SPI and other fieldbus versions in single- or multi-channel redundant designs, with electrical angles available from 30-360°. The wear free RFC-4800 is easily installed with generous alignment tolerances and a wide choice of electrical connection options make commissioning straightforward.
