Hitachi Construction Machinery is showcasing Assist Pro at ConExpo 2026, an AI agent prototype developed in collaboration with technology company Ramblr.ai.
The multi-model AI assistant runs on iOS, with future support for additional mobile platforms, and can process information from equipment operating or technical manuals, promotional literature, equipment or jobsite images, technical walkarounds and promotional videos to generate answers and suggested actions. The agent is engineered to understand and interpret natural language in both text form and through voice commands, providing technical and operational guidance in a conversational format based on the type of user and the information required to answer the inquiry.
Assist Pro was developed as a mobile app to ensure it is available to users wherever they need it. At the Hitachi Construction Machinery booth, two phones are loaded with the Assist Pro prototype app configured as an assistant for the ZX210LC-7H excavator. The agent has been trained on hundreds of data points including machine specs, technical documents, walkaround and how-to videos, sales materials and brand materials related to the excavator. Because its knowledge base contains videos with expert knowledge, Assist Pro can provide tacit knowledge about the ZX210-7H that may not be expressly stated in technical documentation.
Users can capture a picture of a machine part, such as the Trias III hydraulic system, and ask how it differs from other excavators on the market. Team members who work outside the cab, such as mechanics, can connect with Assist Pro on their phones without leaving a machine’s service bay, while project managers can determine equipment capacity without digging through documents.
The agent evaluates user experience level through the complexity of questions posed, and adapts the information it provides accordingly. This means equipment rental companies can use the tool to guide inexperienced operators on an unfamiliar machine, while fleet managers can use it to train new operators on daily walkaround procedures.
“Ramblr’s AI Assist Pro development marks the start of a much broader journey with Hitachi Construction Machinery,” says Roman Hasenbeck, chief executive officer of Ramblr.ai. “By combining their industry leadership in engineering and future-centric outlook with Ramblr’s AI agents, we’re transforming documentation and expert know-how into always-available, AI-powered intelligence — delivering interactive, AI-driven guidance that scales seamlessly across machines, teams, and global operations.”
The partnership forms part of Hitachi Construction Machinery’s upcoming brand change to Landcros, with the ‘O’ in the name representing the company’s commitment to openly collaborate with startups and technology specialists, and the ‘S’ representing its focus on delivering solutions to real-world needs.
Visitors to the Hitachi Construction Machinery booth F19012 at ConExpo 2026 can test Assist Pro and learn more about the AI agent’s capabilities.
