LiuGong is using ConExpo 2026 to showcase a wide range of construction equipment for the North American market, with electric wheel loader and excavator models among the highlights of a display that also takes in diesel wheel loaders, excavators, graders, compactors and forklifts.
The 820TE electric wheel loader and a 22-tonne electric excavator both make their ConExpo appearances alongside an extensive diesel lineup, with LiuGong citing operating cost reductions of 70% compared with diesel equivalents for its electric machines — attributing savings to the elimination of fuel, reduced maintenance, fewer oil and filter changes and no transmission or torque converter rebuilds.
The 820TE is powered by a 70.5kWh LFP battery system operating at 309V, with a 60kW onboard charger delivering a full charge in under 70 minutes. The machine has an operating weight of 6,500kg and a rated load capacity of 2,000kg, with a standard 1.2m³ bucket, 50kN breakout force and a travel speed of 19km/h in both directions.
Protection ratings are IP67 for the drive motor and IP68 for the battery management system. A quick hitch and built-in laser grading mount are included as standard. Batteries in LiuGong’s existing electric machines have already exceeded 20,000 hours in operation, with the company expressing confidence they will reach 40,000 hours. The 22-tonne electric excavator comes standard with auxiliary hydraulics.
Diesel wheel loaders
Two diesel wheel loader models are also being shown, both launched in Europe last year. The 842 — which LiuGong describes as one of the highest-volume loader segments in the market — is joined by the 856T, powered by a Cummins B6.7 engine rated at 225hp and compliant with EPA Tier 4 Final and EU Stage V emissions standards.
The 856T has an operating weight of 19,830kg, a standard bucket capacity of 3.5m³, a breakout force of 176kN and a maximum travel speed of 26mph with lock-up. Both models feature redesigned cabs with a 30% increase in legroom, with coupler ports, auto-leveller, ride control, 360-degree camera and ground-level service points with LED lighting all included as standard.
Excavators
On the diesel side, LiuGong is showcasing three excavators spanning 3.5 to 52 tonnes. The 925, a 25-tonne machine, is being officially launched for 2026 and is designed for applications requiring a high swing radius in confined spaces; it is available without a blade.
The 3.5-tonne and 52-tonne models are refreshed versions of existing North American products. All excavators come standard with auxiliary hydraulics, and machines 10 tonnes and below include four-way dozer blades as standard.
Grader, compactor and dozer
LiuGong is reintroducing its 4215D motor grader to the North American market in a Tier 4 Final/Stage V configuration, having previously offered a Tier 3 variant. The machine was recognised as one of the top 100 new products for the North American construction industry in 2025.
It is powered by a Cummins B6.7 engine producing 225hp and 874.7 lb-ft of torque, and features all-wheel drive, a hydraulic powershift transmission with six forward and three reverse speeds, a 3D grade control system and a reverse air purge fan as standard.
Making its ConExpo debut is the new 6608 compactor, an 8-tonne machine with a 66-inch drum. A 45-degree swing seat gives the operator a view of both ends of the machine during forward and reverse operation, and LED lighting is standard.
Forklift expansion
LiuGong is launching a full lithium-ion forklift line for the North American market in 2026, ranging from 4,000 to 22,000 lb capacity, with a 20,000-hour battery warranty. A new range of rough terrain forklifts across three models — from 4,000 to 7,000 lb — is also being shown following a North American test programme.
All LiuGong forklifts in North America come equipped with four-valve hydraulics, side-shifting, fork positioners, backup cameras and LED lighting as standard.
Telematics now standard
LiuGong’s iLink telematics system is now standard on all diesel and battery-powered machines over 100hp and on all electric machines shipped to the United States, with the company confirming it will also be standard across all corporate products.
The system covers more than 250 data points and provides machine location, security monitoring and remote diagnostics, enabling dealers to arrive on job sites with a prepared service plan.
LiuGong’s theme for ConExpo 2026 is “Tough customers, tough equipment”, with three regional customers present at the company’s booth to discuss their experience with the machines.
