John Deere Power Systems has announced the latest addition to its lineup of Final Tier 4 industrial engines, the PowerTech PSL 4.5L engine.

Engineered to meet the needs of its OEM customers, the PowerTech PSL 4.5L with variable speed ratings is equipped with an Integrated Emissions Control system consisting of cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system.

“We continue to enhance our Final Tier 4 engine lineup. With the introduction of the PowerTech PSL 4.5L engine, we’re offering a common technology solution across our entire 4.5L power range from 63-129kW (85-173hp),” said Darrin Treptow, manager, worldwide marketing for John Deere Power Systems.

“The PowerTech PSL 4.5L delivers more power density and improved low-speed torque, while leveraging combustion optimization that eliminates the need for a DPF.”

John Deere designed the Integrated Emissions Control system for the PowerTech PSL and previously announced PWL 4.5L engine platforms to balance performance and operating requirements. The PowerTech PWL and PSL 4.5L engines complement the Final Tier 4 PSS 4.5L engine equipped with a DPF, providing OEMs with greater application flexibility.

The new PowerTech PSL engine without a DPF is available with power ratings from 93-129kW (125-173hp). The existing PowerTech PWL 4.5L engine with DOC/SCR aftertreatment delivers 63-04kW (85-140hp).
