Increased numbers of international visitors and exhibitors to Agritechnica 2017 highlight the growing appeal of the show.

The proportion of foreign exhibitors to the agricultural machinery trade show in Hannover, Germany, grew to 60%, with 2,803 companies from 53 countries presenting a wide range of tractors, farm vehicles, equipment and accessories.

“Agritechnica has further extended its leading role as the global industry gathering for agriculture and agricultural machinery,” said Dr Reinhard Grandke, chief executive officer, DLG (German Agricultural Society), at the conclusion of the fair on November 18, 2017.

“The innovations presented at Agritechnica under the main theme, ‘Green Future – Smart Technology’, offer agriculture the best conditions for sustained intensification of production, which aims at further increasing efficiency while at the same time conserving resources. Digitization is a driver of innovation here.”

The show received 450,000 visitors – equalling the show’s previous record set in 2015 – with over 100,000 traveling in from outside of Germany. A survey conducted during the show revealed many were ‘very satisfied’ with the opportunities to extend knowledge at the fair.

The non-German visitors represented 138 different nations, with growth in numbers from the North American, Asian and African continents.

Grandke, said, “Agritechnica’s appeal to international politicians has increased noticeably. Numerous ministers and business delegations from all over the world learned about future strategies for agriculture at this year’s fair.”
