Komatsu Europe has launched the PW75MR-5, a compact wheeled excavator developed for increasingly congested jobsites where transport and manoeuvrability are at a premium.
The machine combines an operating weight of less than 7.5 tonnes with a width of 2m. Standard four-wheel steering, crab steering and a short turning radius are intended to help operators work in confined spaces and move safely between tasks.
Beneath the bodywork sits an all-new transmission and hydraulic concept. Independent travel hydraulics, attachment integration, a 7in high-resolution touchscreen and a wide range of options combine to give the machine, Komatsu says, the versatility, productivity and operator confidence usually associated with much larger machines.

The PW75MR-5 was developed and launched in direct response to their need for a compact excavator that delivers heavy-duty performance, agility and efficiency on today’s demanding and congested jobsites, helping them work more sustainably and successfully,” says Alex Visentin, product manager at Komatsu Europe.
The redesigned cab has revised controls and an updated driving layout. The 7in touchscreen supports 26 languages, while a new slow-speed control is designed for smoother manoeuvring and precise machine positioning. Cruise control, a DAB+ radio with Bluetooth connectivity and an optional premium comfort seat are also available.
For versatility across applications, an axle oscillation lock simplifies machine set-up and axle differential locks are intended to provide traction on muddy or difficult ground. A dedicated, independent travel-system pump maintains attachment control while the machine is moving, and optional Tool Control, integrated into both auxiliary hydraulic lines, is designed to manage multiple attachments. The machine is also prepared for tiltrotator installation.
Komatsu Europe presented the PW75MR-5 at GaLaBau 2026 in Nuremberg, which ran from 15 to 18 September, showing the machine to professionals working in the development and maintenance of urban green and open spaces.
