Intermat Asean 2017, the first Intermat construction tradeshow in Southeast Asia, got underway yesterday at the Impact Arena, Exhibition and Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand.

Thailand is expected to be the largest market for construction in the Southeast Asian region, accounting for approximately US$30bn-US$35bn, more than Singapore’s US$18bn-US$25bn and Malaysia’s US$25bn-US$30bn.

“Intermat Asean 2017 (June 8-10) serves to be an effective industry platform to capitalize on the rapid developments of the building and construction industry in Thailand and Southeast Asia. This event is strategically organized in line with the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), which will present plenty of trade and investment opportunities in the building and construction sector for the entire region,” said Loy Joon How, general manager, Impact Exhibition Management.

The first edition of the show will include an outdoor demonstration area alongside the exhibition, featuring 5,000m2 of outdoor exhibit and outdoor working demonstration area – providing visitors the opportunity to see and test drive the latest machinery and equipment in live action.

Exhibitors participating at the show will include Bobcat, Case, Construction, Hitachi, JCB, Liebherr, Manitou, Putzmeister, Sany, Wacker Neuson and Volvo.
