Steyr is returning to the specialty tractor segment with the Spezial F CVT, a range of 100-120hp tractors developed for orchard, hop-growing and other perennial high-value crop work. The models combine Steyr’s CVT transmission with an integrated precision farming package and operator comfort features.
The move builds on Steyr’s specialty heritage: its 80 series, built in St. Valentin between 1979 and 1997, earned a reputation among growers for reliability and agility. The Spezial F CVT is aimed at fruit, hop and other high-value crop producers working in wider row systems, on sloping terrain and in other challenging conditions.
“Specialty growers face unique challenges every day, from working in confined spaces and on difficult terrain to managing increasingly precise production requirements. With the Spezial F CVT, we are bringing the advanced technologies, comfort and efficiency that operators expect from a modern Steyr tractor into a dedicated solution for these unique farming applications,” says Alessio Quatraro, product marketing at Steyr.

The range comprises three models with maximum power outputs of 100-120hp, offered in dedicated configurations. A reversible fan on the 3.6-litre FPT engine supports cooling in dusty conditions, and a 104-litre fuel tank extends working time between refuelling stops. Adaptive steering settings allow operators to tailor steering response for work in confined orchard environments.
The range uses Steyr’s S-Control CVT transmission, which provides stepless operation. A top speed of 50kph can be reached at 1,780rpm, while 40kph requires 1,500rpm in transport applications.
A closed-centre load-sensing hydraulic system delivers 115 l/min flow to support multiple rear and side remote valves, allowing several operations to be carried out in a single pass. The rear linkage provides lifting capacity for a range of mounted implements.
The Spezial F CVT can be specified with an integrated precision farming package. Available technologies include S-Guide auto guidance, the Infomat 1200 touchscreen terminal, EasyTronic II headland management, S-Turn automated row-end turning, the A1000 receiver and connectivity with the FieldOps digital farm management platform.
In the cab, features include adjustable cab suspension, a suspended front axle, a premium seat and in-cab noise of 69dB. Category 4 filtration protects operators during spraying, and a pneumatic trailer brake valve supports safety with trailed equipment. A 12-LED work lighting package aids early-morning and late-evening work, with an optional camera system comprising left-hand, right-hand and rear-view cameras available where additional visibility is required.
