Southco has introduced the R4-15 Rotary Latch, designed to simplify access across multiple panels on heavy machinery used in agricultural and off-highway applications.
The latch addresses a common challenge faced by operators of construction equipment, agricultural machinery and trucks: managing multiple tools or keys to access different panels on a single vehicle. Each panel typically requires a different latch with specialized tool operation, forcing operators to carry various implements in the field.
The R4-15’s design allows it to secure different panel types across heavy machinery while offering various tool-actuated options that match other latches on the vehicle. This enables operators to access any panel with a single key, which Southco offers in an ergonomic design.
For hand-operated functionality, the R4-15 can permanently attach its key, creating what the company describes as an ergonomic experience with every turn. The latch adapts to different environments while providing access, durability and security across various vehicle panels.
The latch’s durability comes from sturdy construction, reinforced housing for tool-operated heads, and a zinc-nickel coating for corrosion resistance. According to Southco, this provides greater reliability in harsh conditions and a longer lifespan compared to less corrosion-resistant hardware.
The R4-15 Rotary Latch is designed to conform to other latches on vehicles, reducing the number of tools operators need to carry. Further information is available at www.southco.com.
