VDMA produces guideline for industrial trucks/attachments interface

More than 80% of counterbalanced lift trucks and a great many other industrial trucks are used today with attachments. Although the mechanical connection of front-mounted attachments has been standardised, this does not yet apply to the hydraulic attachment.

Representatives of various industrial truck and attachment manufacturers in the VDMA (Mechanical Engineering Industry Association) have therefore joined forces to produce a guideline to facilitate the hydraulic connection of attachments to industrial trucks made by different manufacturers.

The guideline applies to industrial trucks with fork arms as per ISO 2328, lifting capacity class 1-5, also in combination with attachments fitted directly to the mast (integrated attachments).

The guideline is available in German and English and can be downloaded free of charge at www.vdma.org.
