Liebherr is presenting eight machines from its earthmoving, mining and components ranges at Steinexpo 2026, which takes place at Europe’s largest basalt quarry in Nieder-Ofleiden, Central Germany on 2-5 September. The company is unveiling a world first at its stand A27, which occupies around 1,000sqm.
The line-up spans an articulated dump truck, two XPower wheel loaders, two Generation 8 crawler dozers, a grid-connected electric mining excavator, a telescopic handler and a mobile energy storage system. Alongside the exhibits, the Liebherr Group is showcasing alternative drive technologies, services and digitalisation developments at its Technology Pavilion.
From the earthmoving range, the TA 230 Litronic is a 30-tonne articulated dump truck aimed at demanding quarry and mining applications. It offers a payload of up to 28 tonnes, a body capacity of up to 18.10m³ and a 360PS engine. Permanent 6×6 all-wheel drive, an automatic differential lock and robust axle suspension are intended to support performance on challenging terrain and steep inclines, with optional wear protection available for abrasive conditions. A soundproofed cab, all-round visibility, a standard weighing system and further assistance systems address operator comfort and safety.

The L 580 XPower is among the group’s largest and most powerful wheel loaders and appears both on the stand and in the live demonstrations. Its standard XPower drive system continuously combines hydrostatic and mechanical drive technology in a single machine, which Liebherr says delivers performance and efficiency across both short loading cycles and longer travel distances. The demonstration machine is fitted with tyre protection chains, a rock bucket and a range of driver assistance systems, and both the demonstration unit and the stand exhibit feature the Liebherr weighing system with Truck Payload Assist.

Two Generation 8 crawler dozers are on show. Visitors can see the 40-tonne PR 756 G8 Litronic in action during the live demonstrations, controlled by an electronically controlled Liebherr hydrostatic travel drive. Integrated assistance systems, including the Liebherr Operator Assistance System, provide Free Grade, Definition Grade and 3D Grade functions for fine-grading and the creation of 2D and 3D terrain models. The smaller PR 726 G8 Litronic is displayed on the stand, with standard assistance systems and increased blade capacity intended to suit both precision grading and higher-pushing-power applications.
From the mining range, the 130-tonne R 9150 E electric excavator is based on the R 9150 model and pairs the manufacturer’s power distribution with a grid-connected electric drive. Liebherr says optimised equipment supports high digging and lifting forces for full bucket fills, while the electric drive reduces local greenhouse gas emissions during operation – provided the electricity comes from renewable sources – and lowers cab noise. With fewer components than a diesel-powered equivalent, the drive is said to reduce maintenance requirements and increase availability.
The components division is exhibiting the Liduro Power Port 600, a mobile, battery-based energy storage system with a capacity of 564kWh, aimed at electrifying construction sites, quarries and mining operations. The unit is designed to supply hybrid and fully electric machines with power and to enable fast charging for mobile and stationary equipment, even where grid supply is inadequate. A combination of AC and DC connections and integrated fast-charging technology sits within a 10ft container format for transport and on-site relocation.
The manoeuvrable T 60-9s telescopic handler, which has a hydrostatic drive, is on display throughout the event on the exhibition space.
At the Technology Pavilion, Liebherr is presenting drive technologies ranging from internal combustion engines running on alternative fuels such as hydrotreated vegetable oil through to hydrogen-based and electric systems, alongside assistance systems, digital services and fleet management solutions. A further highlight is the remanufacturing programme, Reman, which demonstrates how components from two engines are remanufactured into a single component.
