CM Labs launches new simulation package

CM Labs Simulations has launched an updated motor grader simulation package. The new training pack is powered by Vortex Studio simulation and visualization software.

A CM Labs spokesman said, “The result is an engineering-grade grader simulation that has been rigorously field-tested by experienced operators and instructors from equipment manufacturers and top training schools.

“As with all CM Labs construction equipment simulator training packs, the motor grader training solution has been designed to bridge the learning gap between the classroom and the worksite.

“Because motor graders are expensive and extremely complex for novices to operate, the benefits of simulation training are even more pronounced. It is also ideal for operator assessment.”

The training pack’s structured pedagogy means that trainees can progress from basic controls familiarization, to more advanced exercises, ranging from controls familiarization to trailer loading and unloading, windrow management, material spreading and V-ditch operations.

As trainees work through the exercises, their performance and abilities are scored by the Vortex simulator, which measures metrics such as blade efficiency, grade quality, idle time, cycle time and fuel consumption.
