Sennebogen has introduced the 828 G, a material handler for scrap handling and recycling that succeeds the widely used 825 E. Designed for loading, sorting and feeding, it offers a reach of up to 15m, an operating weight from 31tonnes, modular equipment options and the systems of the G Series.
The 828 G carries forward the application profile of the 825 E, which has been used at scrap yards across North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Oceania. It builds on that profile and adds the control, assistance and communication systems of the latest G Series, including the SENcon control system and connected functions for the operator, machine and service team. The machine is intended for operators who need a unit that can be configured flexibly for recycling and scrap handling tasks.

The handler is built for loading, sorting and feeding in daily recycling and scrap operations, and its reach of up to 15m and load capacities allow it to deal with a range of material flows. A modular design lets the machine be configured for the specific application: it is available with a mobile or crawler undercarriage, with equipment lengths from K12 to K15 for the mobile version, and it can be fitted with an orange peel grab, clamshell grab, magnet or sorting grab. A ULM version with tipping kinematics is also available, and the machine is designed for a long service life in continuous-duty applications.
Power comes from a Cummins B6.7 diesel engine that meets Stage V emissions standards, with a rated power of 129kW and an ECO operating point of 145kW. The engine can also run on HVO, and an automatic idle/stop function, optimised hydraulics and large-dimensioned lines support efficient operation.
The standard hydraulically elevating Maxcab gives a viewing height of approximately 5.60m, with large glass panels, safety cameras and a monitor system to support all-round visibility. The redesigned interior is built for ergonomic operation and includes automatic climate control and an air-suspended comfort seat, while a central 10in touchscreen provides access to key machine functions. Individual operator profiles and freely configurable joystick assignments allow the controls to be tailored to each operator.

The Sencon control system displays information on machine condition and energy consumption, and provides access to assistance functions such as adjustable height and radius limitations. Used with Sentrack, it allows operators to analyse machine data to assess work processes and machine utilisation, while remote diagnostics and over-the-air software updates can support service and help maintain machine availability. Service points are arranged for easy access, and daily service work and refuelling can be carried out from ground level.
