Virtualisation of Future Vehicle Engineering

Virtual Engineering 2020: Virtualisation of Future Vehicle Engineering, moved from its original March date to October, will take place at the headquarters of global consultancy Ricardo in Shoreham-by-Sea on England’s south coast.

With increased virtual toolchains essential for future vehicle development, the conference will explore current trends and future potential developments in the virtualisation of engineering. This includes helping customers to reduce development time and cost through Virtual Product Development (VPD), a design right first time approach and more efficient physical testing by removing hardware stages during the development process.

Pressure to reduce and eliminate emissions, improve urban air quality and reduce the carbon intensity of transportation, mean that the wide-scale electrification and hybridisation of vehicles is becoming a reality. This presents a challenge to the product development process to deliver vehicles which are cost-effective, attractive, and compliant with international regulations. All of this will be explored at the event.
