Cab suspension comfort for MF 5400 Series tractors

Cab suspension is now an option on all Massey Ferguson MF 5400 Series tractors. The new system offers higher levels of comfort to operators who are now using these versatile, multi-function tractors for long hours on a wide range of demanding tasks.

Massey Ferguson is the first and only manufacturer to offer cab suspension in the sub-100hp bracket, with its MF 5425 and MF 5435 models now providing best in class comfort for operators. “While comfort is now often a key requirement for many operators, this is a feature that, until now, is seldom found in this sector,” explains Mathieu Razy product marketing manager: “Massey Ferguson now is now meeting the demand from users of these medium specification, multi-purpose tractors by now introducing cab suspension as an option across the entire MF 5400 Series providing higher comfort on tractors from 85hp to 145hp.”

For users of Massey Ferguson MF 5400 Series tractors of more than 120hp even higher comfort levels are available by combining the existing, optional front axle suspension with the new suspended cab option.

Massey Ferguson’s engineers have now employed their experience and expertise gained from designing award-winning cab suspension systems on larger tractors to provide extra comfort from an efficient and reliable mechanical system.

The system includes:
* Silent block bushes
* Springs/shock absorbers
* Panhard rod for lateral stability

Suspension for all flat floor cabs
Available for all MF 5400 Series tractors with a standard flat-floor cab, including those with Visio roof options, the new suspension is a straight-forward design. The entirely mechanical system employs two new silent block bushes to support the cab at the front, with a pair of spring-assisted shock absorbers mounted on the two rear corners.

A Panhard rod on the rear spring units provides lateral stability, which combines with the vertical damping to offer suspension in three dimensions – up/down and side-to-side. The mechanical system requires no operator input, with the damping set to pre-determined levels by the shock absorbers and springs.

The new silent block bushes will now be fitted to all MF 5400 standard flat floor cabs, with or without the suspension option. These do, however, raise the height slightly and this means the bushes and suspension will not be available on the Low Profile cab, on which the low overall height is paramount.

Massey Ferguson continues to offer a full range of cab and roof options to precisely meet the requirements of widest range of customer requirements. The new suspension system further enhances this cab choice, which continues to offer the most comfortable and practical selection in this power bracket.
