50 years “Made for Motion – KTR”

Since 1959, KTR has embodied progress in drive technology. KTR’s story of success started when the BoWex curved-tooth gear coupling was launched onto the market. Today KTR keeps moving for drive technology more than ever before, and since April 2009 the new motto is as follows: Made for Motion – KTR.

KTR products are used in a large number of applications including agricultural, forestry or construction machinery, hydraulic power packs, gearboxes and other applications which require power transmission – KTR offers a big variety of interesting engineering solutions.

KTR couplings for a reliable power transmission

BoWex couplings are a perfect example for reliable, flexible couplings and BoWex FLE-PA which is well-known throughout the world was the basis for the introduction into the market with hydrostatic drives. KTR has introduced the new BoWex FLE-PAC just recently. Here the abbreviation “C” signifies carbon as a material allowing for even more operating hours. In addition the new design consisting of composite material with a steel flange renders possible a space-saving and low-cost adaptation in particular to special flywheels.

KTR cooling units for an individual thermo management

Moreover, a brand-new series of coolers was presented in the anniversary year 2009. KTR has produced air coolers for hydraulics for many years. The new generation of coolers allows KTR to realize customized solutions for construction and agricultural machines. Already today KTR supplies OEM customers with so-called combined coolers, cooling being realized by hydraulic and/or gear lubricant oil as well as cooling water and charge air by an integrated element.

KTR welded designs – more than a tank only

Apart from that KTR offers high-quality welded designs for agricultural and construction machines for the European market. Starting as oil tanks, the design has soon become a specialized production of combined tanks. They can be designed individually and integrated into the machine. Moreover, KTR produces frames, brackets and other welded designs individually following the customers’ requests, too.

Before KTR products are launched onto the market, they have already passed an actual torture. Couplings are subject to static and dynamic tests under hardest conditions in the in-house R & D center and coolers have to prove their stability on special test benches. KTR products may even be subject to an extremely high artificial ageing within the framework of a climate test. In cooperation with the design department and the 3D-based FEM system a rapid parallel product development is possible. In this way KTR does not depend on external contractors which offers an obvious advantage over competitors being called – know-how!
