The Construction Equipment Association (CEA), with over 100 members, is the trade association that represents the UK construction equipment sector - and is recognised by HM Government as the voice of our industry. The CEA works closely with BIS (the Department for Business Innovation and Skills) and UK Trade & Investment to ensure the views of the UK Construction Sector are heard. We are represented in Brussels, as active members of the Committee for European Construction Equipment (CECE) - www.cece-eu.org - and our influence is felt worldwide through our technical and international trade work and contacts with counterpart organisations.

The UK construction equipment industry is worth an estimated £8.5 billion (over US$14 billion) to the British economy. Many of our members are involved in export with some exporting over 80% of their production to more than 150 export markets. Our members are required to manufacture products of proven reliability to high quality standards with a full after sales service.
Membership is open to companies in the construction equipment sector that either; manufacture in the UK (OEMs or suppliers), are component or accessory suppliers to UK-based OEMs, or are established importers with a UK office. Membership is also available by invitation to service providers, such as trade publishers and market analysts - and to overseas offices of major manufacturers.
CEA members can draw on a wide range of services designed to promote the performance of the UK construction equipment industry, including technical issues, statistics and international business. The CEA is about to launch a Standards Database to keep members up to speed on standards relating to the CE sector. The CEA is an Accredited Trade Organisation for UK Trade & Investment – delivering UK Pavilions at exhibitions and running seminars, conferences and trade missions in Europe, Asia, North and South America and Africa.

The CEA’s quarterly publication, Newsline, is distributed worldwide to industry contacts and our regular international trade and technical e-bulletins keep members up to date with the latest events and developments.
The CEA is also the lead organisation for the CESAR plant registration scheme, which is designed to deter theft and make the recovery of stolen plant more certain - www.cesarscheme.org.
Regular networking events, seminars, conferences and briefings are held on key legislative and market developments affecting our industry – with opportunities to meet other companies and the “movers and shakers” in our industry.
